-
Location - Foster
Beach - Need some volunteers to get there early or there is
potentially another strategy Bryan McDermand discussed with me.
Please let me know if you're willing to help hold courts.
-
Format- Unchanged
from last year, Blind Draw (same Partner all day), but Tournament
Director reserves the right to make changes to the format based on
number of entries in consideration of tournament time length.
- Registration - Just like
last year, a pay-in-advance registration system so
that I can identify what our headcount will be so we know how many
courts are needed and what the format will be to make
planning/organization easier.
- Entry fee- $20/player,
and at this point all funds will be paid out to the top finishing
teams.
- Deadline - to register
is 5pm Saturday before the Tournament, but
registration is not confirmed unless you are an "even number"
registrant
- Payments -
Registration fees can be sent to this email (chrisprestegaard1@gmail.com or
847-612-4208) by Paypal, Zelle, or Venmo (@Chris-Prestegaard)
, or cash if I happen to see you in advance of the tournament.
Payments to the top finishing teams will also be sent
electronically.
- Order - Registration will
be considered in the order which registration fees are received. The
last "odd numbered" player to register will be "on the bubble" until
we get to an even number. I will communicate this to that player (if
we have an odd number) on Saturday evening before the Master's so
they know and can decide what they want to do, which is a segue to
the next point.
- Walk Ups - There is no
guarantee to get into the Master's as a walk up, but as tradition I
will accept walk up registrations as long as we continue to have an
even number of players. Hence the odd number player to register
could be saved by a "walk-up"
- No show/late - if a
player "no-shows" or arrives late (after 8:30am), their registration
fee is forfeited, and will provide a walk-up player an opportunity
to play for free.
- Setup Volunteer(s) -
As mentioned above, unless the "McDermand Idea" comes to fruition,
we need a couple guys each month to arrive early to hold courts.
- Eligibility - A player
is eligible to play as long as they turn 35 this year, so if you
turn 35 by 12-31-23, you are eligible.
- Timing - Please arrive no
later than 8:30am or you risk a walk-up player taking
your spot. Best efforts will be made to conclude by 3pm,
but please make sure you are available until 5pm to be
safe.
- Refunds - obviously if
weather makes conditions unplayable and the Master's is cancelled, I
will refund your money or move it towards the next tournament. If
you cancel at least 24 hours in advance, I will refund
your money.
-
Invite -
if you know players that you would like to draw (from a skill and
social perspective) please extend
the invitation.
